Sports & Exercise

Sports activities available at the camp  include basketball, football and volleyball. Camp sports day competitions are held allowing all participants to learn about teamwork, discipline and fair play. Throughout the duration of the camp, participants go on supervised hiking trips through the beautiful Mongolian countryside to learn about the various kinds of flora and fauna, to appreciate nature and to understand the need to care for the environment.  As the scenic Kharaa River flows adjacent to the camp facilities, the participants are able to go swimming everyday.

Creative Arts

The Tsoglog Summer Camp is located three hours north of Ulaanbaatar, in the beautiful countryside of Batsoumber Soum, Tuv aimag. The Children and Young People’s Protection and Development NGO (CYPPD) first established the camp in 2007, in partnership with Edinburgh Global Partnerships. Since then, CYPPD has continued to run the camp annually in partnership with Project Mongolia where over 1500 disadvantaged children have participated in the Tsoglog Summer Camp program, the first camp of its kind made available at no cost to marginalised children and youth that may otherwise not have the opportunity to experience their summers in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment.

TSOGLOG SUMMER CAMP

The active promotion of the creative arts amongst children and young people is of key importance towards supporting their personal development as individuals, in addition to contributing to their social and individual sense of wellbeing. Participants at Tsoglog Summer Camp receive exposure to a wide variety of creative activities such as: theatre, dance, music, choir singing, art and craft, film and photography.

Each year, CYPPD runs the English Summer Camp where children and young people come to engage in fun and active learning and tuition from a team of international volunteers from the United Kingdom. Students of all levels are catered for, from beginner levels of English to advanced levels. The English Summer Camp similarly promotes cross-cultural relationships and understanding, preparing the young people of Mongolia to engage as international citizens in an increasingly globalized world.

CYPPD has delivers training specifically around raising the awareness of children and young people about issues that are important to them. They are equipped with a wide range of relevant life skills and knowledge such as: Children’s Rights; Child Abuse, Child Labour and Exploitation; Body-Image and Self-Esteem; and a wide range of Health topics, including Drug and Alcohol awareness.
